I think it'd be cool to have a thread about various games you can play during an op (with a partner or not) that would help improve technique and stealth. It could help motivate our lazy asses to go out and have some fun while working on perfecting our skills. If you've got an idea, feel free to post it.
When adding a game, please include the name, objective, rules (if applicable), and how it will help.
Example:
Name: Silent Stalker
Objective: Stalk someone, getting as close as possible for as long as possible without being detected
Rules: Being detected counts as a loss, score is determined how close you were to the person in feet (units), and lower scores (IE 10 feet) are better than higher scores (IE 30 feet)
How it will help: Helps stealth skills (particularly silent walking), helps observe behaviors of those out at night, helps build confidence near people at night

Ideas for Technique-Perfecting Games?

Plant & Retrieve:
You need at least two people for this game. The objective is for one person to infiltrate an area and plant an item in a strategic place (on a rooftop, near a guardhouse, under somebody's window, etc) without being seen and the other person has to then retrieve the item without being detected either. The key to this exercise is observation and being able to critique your partner's stealth performance.
Stealth/Shadow Racing:
A race from one checkpoint to another but with the intention of getting there as quickly and stealthily as possible. Develops skills for stealth running and makes one more perceptive to "thieve's highways".
Hide & Seek:
Self explanatory. Much more fun with fellow skilled oppers.
Manhunt:
Somebody may have mentioned this one before. This is similar to Hide & Seek except it usually takes place during the day in public locations and relies more on social stealth rather than "shadow" stealth. One person is the target whose objective is to remain undetected by the other "hunters" without leaving the AO (such as a shopping mall or marketplace). The hunters will usually have some form of communication to co-ordinate their search, so remaining invisible will require cunning.

Urban Sprinting:
This is an idea I got from this youtube video: http://youtu.be/uTSAgpGfXK8
1.) Go to a mall and pick a random store. This store will be your starting place.
2.) Find an item with a security tag and walk to the store exit. Trigger the shoplifting alarm with the item and then leave the item at the store. Once you see security coming for you run like a madman.
3.) You can either play until you have evaded security or until you reach a certain objective such as a certain store or food vendor.
4.) The worst that can happen to you is that you get caught and kicked out of the mall. You have broken no laws and have made the security guards "work for their money."

Re: Ideas for Technique-Perfecting Games?
That is pretty funny, and it would be a decent exercise in evasion (then again they are just mall cops...). But word of warning: I feel like they could still probably try to get you for "attempting to shoplift", so you might want to be careful with this. Plus you would be attempting this in the middle of the day with plenty of witnesses so just be careful.InShadowLies wrote:Urban Sprinting:

three words - hide and seek
Re: Ideas for Technique-Perfecting Games?
Me and my two brothers, and one of my buddies actually came up with a similar idea. Well, more like slightly altered, because it's pretty much the same idea. What we did was put a target inside, then had two of us guard the house and two of us have to sneak inside the house, retrieve the target, then leave undetected. You could take out one of the guards if you were able to sneak up on them and tap them on the shoulder or touch them without being spotted. Alternatively, if a guard saw you, you were out...Xanatos wrote:Plant & Retrieve:

The game is rigged towards the guards, IMO. Nobody ever successfully retrieved the target, but at one point a guard did get taken out. It was a fun ass exercise that taught us a lot, but again, it was rigged towards the guards.
